About Tara Stivers

I live in Camarillo with my husband and two children, now eight and six, who were both born in Ventura County. My own journey into motherhood inspired me to support families as they go through the amazing transformation that occurs with pregnancy, birth and new life.

As both a mother and a birth support professional, I understand the importance of support and education during pregnancy and labor in achieving a positive birth experience. The notion of a "positive birth experience" differs from one person to the next, and my goal is to help parents define what they want their birth experience to be, and to help them achieve it.

I have supported couples through their birth experiences as a DONA certified birth doula for five years, serving Ventura County and the west San Fernando Valley. In addition to labor support, I teach childbirth education classes as an ICEA certified childbirth educator, prenatal yoga and infant massage, both in group settings and privately. As a certified lactiation counselor, I also provide breastfeeding support and education to clients and students.
